Talemia conducted a workshop entitled “Accessing All Learners” which aims to train the male and female teachers and supervisors at the comprehensive education schools. The workshop was conducted in collaboration with Saudi Arabian Apple Company over three days starting Sunday October 9, 2016 in Riyadh where 40 trainees participated in the workshop. The female teachers’ workshop will be conducted next Sunday.
The workshop, implemented by the Special Education Development Program at Talemia, aims to support the optimal use of devices and iPad applications delivered earlier to the schools implementing this model. Trainers accredited by Saudi Arabian Apple Company came from outside the Kingdom for this specific purpose.
The workshop primarily discusses, through direct ( face-to face) training,
how to use the tablet (iPad) to support and expedite the learning process inside classrooms in addition to discovering the basic features of the device and developing the skills of utilizing it. The device provides a range of specialized uses that could be unfamiliar to the average user. Thus, the workshop trains the participants on how to prepare the device to enable disabled students to use its features such as audio, fonts, writing, reading, work organization and learning through using the device as well as the most important applications in this respect. The workshop also explains the way the device could be controlled to be used for educational purposes. Additionally, it helps teachers to use the device as a teaching, complementary and attractive aid inside the classroom. Further, the teacher can control using the device, unify the presentation method for all students and communicate with them.
